DENTAL RUBBER DAM SET
Description
A dental rubber dam kit is a comprehensive clinical toolkit used to achieve absolute isolation of one or more teeth during endodontic (root canal) treatments, conservative restorations, and other operative procedures.
Rubber Dam Sheets: Thin, highly elastic sheets made of latex or latex-free material. They act as a physical barrier to keep saliva and oral fluids out of the operating site.
Rubber Dam Frame (e.g., Young's Frame): A metal or plastic U-shaped frame used to stretch and hold the rubber dam sheet taut, keeping the patient's lips and cheeks retracted.
Punch (e.g., Ainsworth Punch): A precision hand instrument featuring a rotating cutting wheel with various hole sizes, used to puncture clean holes in the rubber sheet that correspond to the targeted teeth.
Forceps (e.g., Ivory Forceps): Specialized locking pliers used to securely grip, expand, and position rubber dam clamps onto the teeth.
Rubber Dam Clamps: Spring-metal clips (winged or wingless) designed in various sizes and anatomical shapes to anchor the rubber dam sheet securely around the neck of molars, premolars, or anterior teeth.
Accessory Tools: This often includes templates or stamp guides to mark tooth locations on the sheet, and sometimes sterilization cassettes/trays for organized instrument maintenance.
